For We Walk By Faith, Not By Sight - II Corinthians 5:7

Reverend Gordon at DeskJune 24th, 2007

Grace To You and Peace From God Our Father, and The Lord Jesus Christ: It is with humble thanksgiving that I extend this greeting on the occasion of the celebration of the 100th Anniversary (to the day), of the Ingleside Presbyterian Church Ministry. Our Ministry is the first protestant ministry in the area, and was established to serve persons living in tents following the devastation caused by the great San Francisco earthquake and fire of 1906. Bold leaders, Rev. W.E. Dugan and Missionary Laura Sawhill began our ministry to serve the spiritual and practical needs of so many suffering people.

As can be seen in the overview of our Historical Roots, our ministry has been one of vision, struggle, and persistence. Along the journey, God has continuously raised up bold leaders to keep this good work of service to humanity in Jesus' name alive. Such leaders as W.R. McKnight, Albert Kelly, R.H. Gordon, Herrick Lane, John Campbell, Dwight White, Al Damon, Charles Washburn, Byron Bland, Claude Kilgore, Dorcas Thomas, and others still provide inspiration as I continue leading the work the good Lord has prepared in advance for us to do.

It is in the spirit of our 100 year history of bold leadership rising up to lead our ministry in unselfish service to humanity that we recognize many outstanding individuals who have exemplified the same leadership quality. There are numerous other likeminded persons we are unable to include, who we thank God for and encourage to continue the good work of Jesus, for such a time as this.

Let us celebrate the good the Holy Spirit has done using all the servants of Christ called to work in the Ingleside vineyard over these 100 years. Let us give due honor, praise, and glory to God in Christ Jesus for all the good that HE has done, and shall do using us, for truly, "Other foundation can no one lay, that that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ." Today we celebrate. Tomorrow we begin the first day of service to humanity for the next 100 years, in Jesus' Name. Thank you all for your support.
